Bela Karolyi & Annia Hatch to Launch National Gymnastics Day on NBC's Today Show
Hope you caught Bela Karolyi and Annia Hatch on the NBC's Today Show on Monday, July 21. The duo helped kick off the Mrs. Smith's Flip-A-Thon to launch the fifth annual National Gymnastics Day! Full coverage of National Gymnastics Day will follow in the September/October issue of USA Gymnastics.
USA Gymnastics, Sacramento Sports Commission Agree To 10 Year Partnership
USA Gymnastics and the Sacramento Sports Commission have agreed to a partnership to stage a minimum of eight USA Gymnastics championship events in Sacramento over the next 10 years. The first event just took place, July 13-21, with the U.S. Jr. Olympic & U.S. National Trampoline and Tumbling Championships, at the Sacramento Convention Center.
T&T U.S. Championships and J.O. Championships
At the time of print, the Trampoline and Tumbling U.S. Championships and JO Championships are underway in Sacramento, Calif. The T&T U.S. Championships will name National Champions at the Jr. Elite & Sr. Elite levels for all disciplines and the J.O. Championships (Levels 5-10) will name National Champions in age-groups for all disciplines. Watch for full coverage on the website and in the September/October issue of USA Gymnastics magazine.

World Championships Teams Named
The men's team that will compete at the 2003 World Championships, Aug. 16-24 in Anaheim, Calif. has been named and includes: Paul Hamm, Jason Gatson, Blaine Wilson, Morgan Hamm, Brett McClure, Raj Bhavsar and alternates Alexander Artemev and Guard Young.

The women's team has also been named and includes: Courtney Kupets, Tasha Schwikert, Hollie Vise, Ashley Postell, Annia Hatch and Carly Patterson. The alternates are Terin Humphrey and Samantha Sheehan. GO USA!
12th World Gymnaestrada
The U.S. has nearly 300 participants from all over the United States performing in the 12th World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal, July 20-26. The delegation is headed by Internet Service and Group Gymnastics Director Steve Whitlock.

Gymnastics Stars Appear on Wayne Brady Show
Legendary gymnastics coach Bela Karolyi and Olympians Shannon Miller and John Macready appeared on the Daytime Emmy Award winning Wayne Brady Show on Wednesday, July 16. The trio is promoting the 2003 World Gymnastics Championships scheduled for August 16-24, at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. Hope you caught Wayne Brady taking some lessons from Shannon on beam and John on pommel horse!
