III. Long Range Jr. Team Report

Dennis McIntyre - Presented to the JOPC. Copies have gone to the JOPC, MPC, Junior National Coaching Staff and Junior National Team Coaches and will be distributed throughout the gymnastics community

IV. Age Group Committee Report

Jeff Robinson -
  1. Timeline report - published only as necessary
  2. Power of Age Group Committee to make decisions
    Note - The JOPC endorsed the actions of the Age Group Committee

V. Proposal for Open Optional Age Group and National Championships

Gil Elsass -
  1. There is a need to think of other avenues for older boys and new coaches.
  2. Will try it in Texas and give a report on results.

VI. Nomination for 2002 Frank Comiskey Award

  1. Raleigh Wilson nominated Dean Schott.
  2. The vote will take place in Philadelphia.

VII. 2001 J.O. National Report

Dan Coon - Two aspects to address in running the meet:
  1. Organizing Committee
  2. Business aspect is critical.
    When the committee makes changes to the format that results in an increase in cost, they also need to consider balancing the added expense with some increase in revenue.

VIII. 2002 Championship Committee Report in San Diego

Steve Butcher -
  1. Looking for Sponsorships
  2. Have lots of helpers from OTC in San Diego
  3. Will have a coaches reception
  4. Will use the Proscore scoring system and light boards

IX. Proposal for New J.O. Nationals Date

Hiroshi Fujimoto - Withdrawn

X. 2002 J.O. Nationals Championship Scores

Scores, format and changes, tabled to Congress in Philadelphia

XI. Discussion of using Colored Competition pants in J.O. Program

No action - currently the Age Group rules allow for solid colored competition pants in any color.

XII. Discussion of State and Regional entry fees and adjustments

Motion to change fee at Regional Level to $75 and State Level to $50.

XIII. New Business

  1. Vaulting Apparatus

    Motion that either the New Vaulting Table or the traditional vaulting horse may be used at all levels at all events for State Qualifying Competitions, State and Regional Championships.

  2. Bo Morris - Call him if need be. He is there to serve you.

  3. Ron Galimore - Men's Service Award: Please give your input to MPC.
