- Ron Galimore reviewed the material sent to the committee February 2nd. Foreign athlete participation at USA events was discussed. Each discipline within the USAG needs to look at the "mean age of an Olympic athlete" and back up the athlete's participation to match the green card to the citizenship timetable. The committee determined that the mean age for men's gymnastics would be 24 years of age.
- An agreement was met on the athlete's funding issue.
- Texaco has expanded their relationship with USA Gymnastics by agreeing to provide sponsorship for all Senior Elite team members and their coach, which would cover their expenses for Winter Cup, the USA Qualifier, USA Championships and other training expenses.
III. National Qualifier
Marc Yancey informed the committee that there was one bid for the Qualifier from Minnesota. Chris Waller said that he would be organizing a bid as well in Santa Barbara, CA.Motion to make the USA Championships Qualifier the weekend of July 1st.

PASSED - 8-0The format for the Qualifier for USA Championships was discussed. There would be two sessions like last year. Session I would have the Sr. National Team members and the juniors who are trying to qualify to the Class I and Class II meet. Session II would be the senior's trying to qualify for the senior division at Championships. Gymnasts wanting to qualify on five events or four events must finish among the top 13 spots at the qualifier.
Motion that a total of 33 athletes + petitions will qualify to the 2000 USA Championships. This 33 includes the automatically qualified Sr. National Team members.

PASSED - 8-0IV. Olympic Update
- Selection procedures for the Olympic Games have been approved by the USOC.
- Petitions into the 2000 Olympic Trials need to be clarified. Petitions will only be considered from athletes who were on the 1999 or 1997 World Championships teams and have demonstrated since those competitions that they can make the 2000 Olympic team. The MPC is giving a clear directive that athletes should compete in all four of the qualifying meets to make the Olympic team.
V. Judges at USA Championships
The MPC discussed the pros and cons about the number of judges at last year's Championships and the Trials.Motion to select 18 judges for USA Championships and the Olympic Trials.

PASSED - 8-0VI. Selection Procedures for 2001 World Championships
The committee felt that it was not too early to start making plans for the selection of the 2001 Worlds team. Peter Kormann would like to see several of the Olympic athletes compete in this meet to help the continuity of the program. Peter and Ron will work on giving the National Team a game plan to carry forward from the 2000 Olympic Games. This schedule will incorporate training during the possible Olympic Tour and incentives for athletes to postpone retirement from the sport.VII. National Team Schedule Through the Olympic Games

George Beckstead leaves for Australia this week where the FIG Technical Committee will be working on the 2001 Code of Points.IX. 2001 Schedule
Galimore wants to prioritize the meets that we will attend. Some events may be dropped from the schedule if they do not fit into the plan for the USA team.X. New Business
The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m. MST.
- The Athlete's Council plans to take a more active role in taking care of the problems that have occurred with injured athlete's funding.
- The next Sr. camp is in June.
- The next MPC meeting will be in May.
