It was requested that Suzie DiTullio, Chair - JO Committee, contact the choreographers of the Compulsory Rope and Club routines requesting input of any changes they wish to suggest for the 1998-99 competition season. Any changes would have to be approved by the JO Committee. These changes should be distributed to the coaches as soon as possible.Motion-Maureen Broderick

PASSED-unanimouslyIII. Judge's Certification
Maureen Broderick reported that for the 9th Cycle we have 32 judging courses since August, 1997 and presently have 98 judges certified. The Rules & Policy book states that course should be held during the Fall and Spring months (Sept.-Oct. & April-May). This year this schedule will be adhered to.Motion:
The minimum passing score for all Level 5, Level 6 judging test should be changed to 80%. Participating in and passing a practical experience will be a requirement for all judging certification levels.

Maureen Broderick discussed the status of the High School Group Program. Information is now available for any school district who may be interested in instituting a school intramural program.V. Rules & Policies
Motion:
Change wording...A Level 9/10 gymnast may start judging at Level 6 if she qualified to the National Championships.
Change wording...A Level 7/8 coach may start judging a Level 6 if she is the coach of a gymnast who qualified to JO Championships.Motion-Maureen Broderick

Maureen Broderick distributed a chart listing the various judging assignments over the past several years.VII. Election Of The Technical Committee
The eight elected positions on the Technical Committee will be up for re-election in November of 1998. Any judge currently holding a Rhythmic Provisional National or higher rating is eligible. A notice will be mailed out in September asking for any interested eligible judge to send a resume to the USA Gymnastics office.Motion:
The specific job description assigned to each Technical Committee member be eliminated.Motion-Jackie Jones

Maureen Broderick submitted a Video Proposal. In conjunction with the JO program committee a number of videos will be developed during the next several years to aid in the education of our coaches and judges. The assignment of specific members of the Technical Committee will wait until after the November election is completed.Motion-Maureen Broderick
