II. Approval Of MPC Minutes

Minutes of 6/8, 6/17, 8/24 approved.

III. Clarification Of Sr. Coaches Representatives Positions

The Sr. Coaches Representatives to the MPC will be elected by the coaches of the Sr. National Team at the U.S. Championships.

IV. 1999 World Championships & 2000 Olympic Games Team Selection Procedures

Subcommittee created to produce the 1999 World Championships and 2000 Olympic Team Selection Procedures by Oct. 31. The committee will consist of Tim Daggett, Jarrod Hanks, Peter Kormann and Ron Galimore.

V. 1999 World Championships Judges Selection

Selection tabled until 10/1 conference call.

VI. 1999 World University Games Participation And Selection Procedures

Discussion of document distributed to the MPC. The committee spent a great deal to time talking about the scheduling conflicts and the selection problems. A selection coming from our national team, Winter Cup and petitions was agreed upon.

USA Gymnastics will send a team to the 1999 World University Games through a selection procedures to be determined on the contingency that there will be USOC approval and funding assistance coming from the conferences which received USOC grants.

VII. Athlete's Funding Program Proposal

Athlete's Funding Committee presented a document which allocates unused National Team support funds.

VIII. Selection For The 1999 World Championships Coach And Assistant Coach

Discussion by Ron Galimore about the selection process and selecting a coach who has shown a consistent presence at the international level. Ron Galimore brought forth the name of Peter Kormann as head coach of the 1999 World Championships Team. The head coach will select his own assistant coach.

Approve the Men's Program Director's recommendation.
