Steps to Achieving PDP Level I Accreditation

USA Gymnastics Professional Development Program

All coaches interested in becoming PDP Level I accredited should follow this simple step-by-step guide.

Step 1*

Order the Rookie Coaches Guide to Gymnastics and Sequential Gymnastics II from the USA Gymnastics Merchandise Department or “check-out” these books from your gym and make a copy of the accompanying test. Complete both tests.

Step 2

Look for the Video Clinic listing in Technique, on USA Gymnastics Online (http://www.usa-gymnastics.org), attend a Regional or National Congress that offers the Video Clinic, or inquire within your club to see if there is anyone qualified in your gym to give the Video Clinic (see below for Video Clinic Administrator qualifications).

NOTE: If your club decides to give an in-house Video Clinic, please contact USA Gymnastics Safety and Education Department (317-237-5050, ext. 238) to notify them so they can advertise your clinic to other members.

Step 3 **

Attend the Video Clinic. When the clinic is over, tear out the last page of the Workbook, fill out the information requested, and obtain the Video Clinic Administrator's signature.

Step 4

Once all of the above is completed, send your Rookie test, Sequential test, and Video Clinic form to USA Gymnastics along with a $10 check (processing fee) made payable to “USA Gymnastics.” Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of official certificate or notification of re-test. One certificate indicating completion of PDP Level I will be issued.

* Participants have the option of purchasing their own books through USA Gymnastics.

** The Video Clinic Administrator has a right to charge $10 per person for administration of the course. This check can be made payable to the Video Clinic Administrator or the host gym.

Video Clinic Administrator Qualifications and Guidelines

A Video Clinic Administrator must complete all requirements for PDP Level I, hold a current USA Gymnastics Professional Membership, be currently Safety Certified, and purchase the Level I Video Clinic Instructor's Starter Kit.
