Spring wins silver medal at World Cup in Moscow

MOSCOW, Russia – Justin Spring of Team Chevron/ Burke, Va., tied for the silver medal on the horizontal bar at the 2007 World Stars, a gymnastics World Cup event held at Moscow’s Olympiiskiy Stadium, May 26-27.

Spring posted a 15.300 to tie for second with the Netherlands’ Jaffrey Wammes, finishing just behind Turkey’s Umit Samiloglu, who scored a 15.350.

The USA’s Tim McNeill of Falls Church, Va./University of California – Berkeley, also competed but did not advance to the event finals. Gymnasts from 38 countries competed in the event, which featured men’s and women’s individual events.
