INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., March 21, 2008 – 2004 Olympic all-around champion Carly Patterson will participate in the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships presented by Gillette Venus in San Jose, Calif., this time with a pen and microphone in her hand. Patterson, who became just the second U.S. woman to win the Olympic all-around, will sign autographs on March 28-29 and will sing as part of the ceremonies for the second session of women’s team and all-around finals at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 29. The Pacific Rim Championships run from March 28-30 and feature competition in men’s and women’s gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline.
Patterson is now pursuing a singing career and she is expected to perform her newly-released single, “Temporary Life.” In addition to her singing, Patterson will sign autographs on the concourse from 6-7 p.m. on March 28-29, prior to the evening sessions of the men’s and women’s team and all-around competition.
Other great fan opportunities available on the concourse throughout the event include:
- Tyson Gold Medal Mom contest. Through the Tyson Gold Medal Mom kiosk, fans can record a 60-second video telling why their mom should be chosen as Tyson’s Gold Medal Mom. All entries are placed into a national contest, and the eventual winner will receive a VIP package to Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games. The kiosk will be located in front of the Event Center Arena and will be open throughout the entire competition.
- AT&T interactive zone. Fans can enjoy several interactive entertainment activities, including checking out AT&T’s blueroom on the Internet, getting their photos taken in front of a gymnastics-themed green screen, and entering a sweepstakes to have Mary Lou Retton visit their gymnastics club.
