Both the artistic gymnastics and trampoline Olympic competitions will be held at the National Indoor Stadium, which is located in the Olympic Green and 1.5 km from the Olympic Village. Built for the Olympic Games, ground was broken on May 28, 2005, and the venue hosted the Good Luck Beijing Test Event in late 2007. During the Games, it will have a total capacity of approximately 18,000 seats. Expected to become one of the best sports facilities in Beijing, the National Indoor Stadium can be used for sports competition, cultural and entertaining purposes and will serve as a multi-functional exercise center for local residents after the Olympic Games.
