Veterans Auditorium is located south of I-235 between 3rd & 5th streets. Generations have enjoyed their seats in Veterans Memorial Auditorium. This classic venue was built in 1954 and for years served as the primary location in Des Moines for seeing whichever performer came to town. That means your mother may have been there when Elvis Presley hit the stage in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. You may have missed that but you could have seen AC/DC or Neil Diamond. You may have even been there in 1982 when Ozzy Osbourne blew everyone's mind by biting the head off of a bat. With as long and active history, almost everyone who's lived in Des Moines or visited the area has eventually enjoyed seating in Veterans Memorial Stadium.

For many years the Veterans Memorial Stadium stood alone. Now it has become a major part of the Iowa Events Center, joining the Wells Fargo Arena, the Polk County Convention Center, and the Hy-Vee Hall to create one of the country's best entertainment complexes right in the middle of Des Moines, Iowa.
