Rotation 6

Garry Denk: A great pommel horse routine.

Blaine Wilson: "He is our national champion without a doubt. He does a handspring front, layout one and a half twist on vault." -- TD
"I think I felt the ground shake on that vault! Awesome!" -- TD

Jim Foody: "Nice one arm work on high bar, just beautiful." -- CW

Jay Thornton: "After a year of thinking about not making the Olympic team, he's got to be psyched now with that vault." -- CW

Mike Dutka: "Eight elements on one pommel! This is the best routine we've seen all day. Oh, he almost let his dismount fly off the mat, a little excited, maybe. But he kept it together." -- CW

John Roethlisberger: piked Tkatchev with a half twist on the recatch
"Double front with a half layout over the bar for a great routine!" -- CW

Jason Gatson: "He is showing that he can keep up with the big boys." -- TD

"Double layout, stuck, for his second pass" -- CW
"Full twisting double back dismount" -- CW
"He just rocked that routine!" -- TD

John Roethlisberger: "He looks a little shaky" -- CW
"I think he's improvising a bit here, not the best routine I've seen him do." "Stuck his dismount" -- TD

Garry Denk: "A solid routine but not as clean as we would expect from Garry." -- CW
hands down on his dismount

Brent Klaus: triple back dismount off of rings

Blaine Wilson: "Blaine is such a strong athlete. It's hard for him to miss routines." -- TD
"He almost took a fall on his double twisting double back, but he's got quick feet." -- CW

John Macready: "A nice routine, clean." -- CW

Jim Foody: "A little break on his parallel bars, but the rest nice and clean. Nails the double pike dismount. That is going to help." -- CW

Jay Thornton: Good routine on rings

Mike Dutka: "He has one of the highest start values in the competition. After just two passes, he already has a full point of bonus, ending both of those passes with a one and a half front twist. His second pass is a round off backhandspring, two and a half twist, a little short. A great full twisting double back dismount." -- CW

"Double twisting double layout, little hop, but a clean routine! That kid is tough and has got a lot of character." -- CW

Blaine Wilson: clean and strong routine on pommel horse

Rotation 3

Jay Thornton:

Mike Dutka: "Piked double front, very clean. A hop on his double pike dismount. It was a pretty good routine, but he doesn't look happy with it." -- CW

Jay Thornton: awesome floor routine!

John Roethlisberger: "John could move up with this routine." -- CW
"Here we are seeing good holds on his inverted crosses. Good solid press to handstand, slight shakes in the handstand. A really nice double back between the rings. Dismount is a double twisting double back stick!

Jason Gatson: "An incredible athlete, having a few small problems. But he has great rhythm. A unique skill where he does a full twisting hop full pirrouette." -- CW
"Very nicely done skills!"--TD

Steve McCain: "He has moved all the way up from twelfth to eighth after just two rotations, but he is still more than a point out of the Worlds team." -- CW
"Good holds, although maybe a little high. A bit of swing on rings, but this is a good routine so far." -- CW
"Double front with a half turn, and he sat down. It looked like he was going to stand that up, but he stumbled over his foot and then sat down." -- CW

Blaine Wilson: "Blaine is just an outstanding athletes. He is in first place without any problems. More than likely he will be first place tonight. And, he is still a relatively young athlete." -- CW
"I think Jason Gatson could challenge Blaine for 2000, and if John sticks around, John Roethlisberger will also challenge him." -- CW
"He was a bit shaky on his first pass, watering it down. Two hops on his double layout second pass." -- CW
"Whip to double full dismount, and fights the landing with about ten arm swings, but doesn't move." -- CW

Jim Foody: "With that fall and all those problems in handstand, it's really hard for me to watch th

Rotation 2

Blaine Wilson: outstanding high bar!

Jay Thornton: "He just missed a Kovacs." -- TD

Dave Kruse: fall on his first pass on floor

Jason Gatson: outstanding handspring front with one and a half twists!

Chainey Umphrey: fell off on pommel horse

Garry Denk: fall on his double front vault

John Roethlisberger: "He has the second highest start value on pommel horse, a 9.7 if he doesn't everything that he plans." -- CW
"He didn't finish the 360 degree turn at the end. That's his only major deduction." -- CW
"With so many athletes falling in this rotation, that kind of mistake shouldn't hurt him." -- TD

Steve McCain: "A pretty good routine, I think this pommel routine will score well." -- CW

Brent Klaus: "Triple back off the high bar, but he touched his hands." -- CW

Trent Wells: "Can he handle the pressure of being on the bubble?" --TD
"Trent has a hurt ankle, although you wouldn't be able to know it by his floor routine. A little low on the second pass. However, he sits down on his double back dismount, probably due partly to his torn ligament on his right ankle." -- CW
"Seems like a strong athlete, since he is not using any athletic tape on that ankle." -- TD

Chainey Umphrey: "Very good double layout, almost no deduction for that." -- CW

Jason Gatson: great ring routine!

John Roethlisberger: "I saw him warmup, and he looked like he was continuing to have problems with his first pass." -- CW

double twisting double back for his second pass, with a step
