Qualification

Rhythmic
Top eight from the 1996 Rhythmic National Championships, May 31-June 2 in Athens, Georgia.
Artistic
Top 14 men and the top 14 women will advance from the 1996 Coca-Cola National Gymnastics Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee, June 5-8.
Selection Procedures
The selection procedures detail not only qualification to the U.S. Olympic Trials, but also the selection for the members of the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team.

TV

Rhythmic
ESPN will televise the rhythmic competition June 28 from 7:30-9:00p.m. and on ESPN2, June 28, from 11:30 p.m.-1:00a.m.
Artistic
NBC Sports will feature the artistic competition on June 29 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (live), June 30 from 2:00-3:00 p.m., and June 30 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. (live).
