Notes

The USA men were error free on five of the six events, while experiencing one missed routine and one "rough" routine, according to coach Peter Kormann, on high bar. American John Roethlisberger sits in third place behind Nemov and Scherbo. The team is in 5th place, qualifying for the medal (final) round on Monday night. At the 1995 World Championships, the USA men finished in 9th place.

Yuri Chechi (ITA) missed his parallel bar routine, and world champion Li Xiaoshuang (CHN) missed his rings routine, to fall in the standings.

In the team competition, Russia currently leads the world champions, the Chinese, by almost a full point.
