ABOUT USA GYMNASTICS UNIVERSITY
University Mission
The mission of USA Gymnastics University
is to provide a multi-level, standardized national
education program for gymnastics professionals at
all levels, which emphasizes the proper development
of gymnastics participants in a fun, safe environment
and contributes to the positive growth of the sport. |

What is USA Gymnastics University?
USA Gymnastics University is a collection of educational resources,
courses, clinics, workshops and congresses. Through continuing
education, coaches, instructors, judges, program managers,
and club administrators are better prepared and equipped to
work in the world of gymnastics. The University offers a multilevel
certification program that aims to organize the educational
offerings of USA Gymnastics and provide a means to achieve
logical educational progressions, a well-rounded knowledge
base, and central recognition of education and experience
levels.
Founded in 2004, the University is administered through the
USA Gymnastics National Office. USA Gymnastics regards continuing
education as the primary means of assessing that gymnastics
professionals know the importance of regularly updating their
knowledge of gymnastics skills, proper technique, skill progressions
and drills, rule changes, safety issues and new developments
in major health and wellness guidelines.
What does USA Gymnastics University include?
Currently the University includes a variety of online, live,
and self-study educational courses, national and regional
congresses, and program clinics, camps, and workshops. These
courses represent different levels of education for gymnastics
professionals in varying roles. View the course

by third-party providers and other resources are also linked
from these pages.
USA
Gymnastics University continues to be a work-in-progress as
new courses, education, and resources will be added continually.
The full vision for the University includes a broad spectrum
of educational resources, relevant and timely sport specific
updates - including discussion forums, as well as current
course/clinic information and registration, and additional
educational links. Once everything is in place, USA Gymnastics University will provide:
- Tools and education for individuals new to the sport
and/or coaching
- Opportunities for experienced coaches and instructors
to review and continue to build upon their knowledge
and skill level
- The latest information in a variety of areas including
program rules, skill techniques, injury and health,
safety and more
- Opportunities to build knowledge in other areas
of gymnastics, sport management, sport science, and
business and leadership
Why Education?
Our goal is to provide an education program and tools
that will aid gymnastics professionals in all aspects
of gymnastics involvement and translate into a fun, safe,
and rewarding experience for the athletes and students.
USA Gymnastics University allows us to work towards this
goal by providing greater educational opportunities within
a standardized framework. Education is an important part
of advancing the sport of gymnastics and elevating the
professions of coaching, teaching, officiating, and club/program
management.
