First Aid Basics
Course Description
This course provides basic first aid information for all gymnastics professionals. It covers injury prevention, common types of gymnastics injuries and risks and the symptoms and treatment of those injuries. It also includes general information on other life threatening conditions. This course is essential for gymnastics coaches, instructors, and teachers as well as all gym employees.
The course is offered online only and will take approximately 2 hours to complete. Participants will have access to the course for 30 days from the date of registration and may access the course as often as they wish during that period. The course is comprised of four modules or sections. At the end of the course, participants will be required to take an exam. Users must pass the exam at 80% or better and have an unlimited number of tries to pass the exam. Individuals must be a professional, junior professional, instructor, athlete, or introductory coach member in order to take this online course. The cost for the course is $25. Online course fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another individual. The minimum age for course participation is 15. From the online course, participants will be able to print a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the course.
First Aid Basics is a core requirement
for Level 1 certification within any of the USA Gymnastics University colleges.
