A: Go to Course Offerings & Registration. Click on the course title to get more detailed information on the course including course schedules and registration information. Follow the registration information for the respective course.

Q: Do I need to be a member of USA Gymnastics to take educational courses?
A: Only members may take online courses offered through USA Gymnastics University. Many of the live courses allow registrations from both members and non-members. Membership requirements are included with the registration information (see previous question).

Q: Once I have registered for an online course, where do I log in for my course?
A: Click here or click the "Course Login" link on the Course Offerings page.

Q: Do I need a username and password to register for an online course?
A: To register for an online course, you will need a username and password. All members of USA Gymnastics should have a username and password. Your username is your member number and your password is your 8-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY). Once you have registered for an online course, you will also need your username and password to log into the course.

Q: Do I need a username and password to register for a live course?
A: To register for a live course, you can either register online or by mailing/faxing a paper registration form. In order to use the online registration you will need a username and password. Your username is your USA Gymnastics member number and your password is your 8-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY). Save $5 on your course registration by registering online.

To register by mailing or faxing a paper registration form, it is important to include your member number if you are a current USA Gymnastics member. This will ensure the discounted member rate for the course fee is applied. Non-members may register for live courses using a paper registration form. You may also apply for membership along with your course registration.

Q: What should I do if I have lost or forgotten my username and password?
A: Your username is your USA Gymnastics member number and your password is your 8-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY). If you do not know your member number, contact Member Services at 1-800-345-4719 for this information.

Q: What should I do if I cannot register using my username and password?
A: Be sure that you are typing your username and password exactly as it was issued. If your USA Gymnastics membership has expired, you will not be able to use the online registration for live or online courses. Contact Member Services at 1-800-345-4719 for additional assistance.

Q: What should I do if I have already registered but cannot access an online course using my username and password?
A: First, be sure that you are typing your username and password exactly as it was issued. Second, check the expiration date of the course. You have 30 days from the date of registration to access the online course. After course expiration, you will be able to log into the online learning center, but you will not be able to view the course content. There will be a message displayed letting you know that your course registration has expired. If you wish to access the course after expiration, you must re-register and pay for the course.

If you are having other difficulties with your login, contact Member Services at 1-800-345-4719 for additional assistance.

Q: Can someone else use the username and password that I was assigned?
A: Usernames and passwords are nontransferable. The registered participant is the only individual authorized to obtain certification with the assigned username and password.

Q: When are the registration deadlines for live courses?
A: Mailed or faxed registrations must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the course date. Online registrations must be completed at least 1 week prior to the course date. Late registrations and onsite registrations will be charged a $25 late fee. Late and onsite registrants are not guaranteed a spot in the course. Pre-registration is recommended to guarantee your spot in the course.

Q: What are the course policies?
A: Course registration, cancellation, refund and transfer policies are as follows:

  • Pre-registration is IMPORTANT. Courses are subject to cancellation by USA Gymnastics if minimum pre-registration requirements are not met. Registrants will be notified the week of the course if a cancellation occurs and course fees can be transferred to a future course, or refunded.
  • Pre-registration can be done ONLINE up to one week prior to the live course. Pre-registration by mail or fax must be received 2 weeks prior to the course. Register online and receive a $5 discount.
  • Onsite registrations are generally accepted based on availability of space and materials. An onsite registration fee of $25 will apply in addition to the course fee.
  • Registered individuals may cancel their registration and request a refund within 30 days following a course. A 25% processing fee will apply.
  • Individuals may transfer their registration for a live course to the same type of course at a different date/time or in the case of Safety/Risk Management Certification, to the online course ($5 processing fee applies). Transfers to another live course must be done at least 2 weeks prior to the new course or late fees will apply. Individuals MAY NOT transfer registration to another type of course.
  • Registration is the property of the registrant and cannot be transferred to another individual.

Q: Can I get a refund for a course I was not able to attend?
A: There are no refunds for online courses. Once registration is complete, individuals immediately have access to the online course and therefore no refunds will be processed.

If an individual is unable to attend a live course, refunds can be requested prior to the course or within 30 days following the course using the Course Cancellation and Refund Form. A cancellation/processing fee of 25% of the course fee will apply. Memberships are non-refundable, only course registration fees will be refunded.

Q: Can I change the course I am registered for?
A: An individual may transfer their registration to the same type of course offered on a different date/time. There is no fee for this service. Mail, fax or email the Transfer Course Form to USA Gymnastics to request a course transfer.

For the Safety/Risk Management course, transfers may also be made from a live course to the online course and $5 processing fee will apply. Individuals should register and pay for the online course first, then submit to USA Gymnastics the Course Cancellation and Refund Form, which will cancel the registration in the live course and allow us to process your refund.

Transfers to a different type of course are not permitted (i.e. from Safety/Risk Management to Preschool Fundamentals). Also, course registrations are the property of the individual and cannot be transferred to another person.

Q: What happens if the course I am registered for is cancelled?
A: USA Gymnastics reserves the right to cancel live courses if minimum pre-registration numbers are not met. Cancellation decisions will be made following the registration deadlines (approximately five days prior to the course). If a course is cancelled, USA Gymnastics will notify all pre-registered individuals by email and phone. Those individual will have the option to transfer their course fees to another live course, to the online course (for safety/risk management certification) or to have their course fee refunded without penalty. Individuals will be asked to contact Member Services to make the appropriate changes.

Q: I registered for a live Safety/Risk Management course. Can I take the online course instead?
A: Yes, it is possible to transfer your registration from a live course to the online course. It is done as a two step process. First, register and pay for the online course. Second, use the Course Cancellation and Refund Form to request a refund for the live course. A $5 processing fee will apply to the refund.

Q: Can I register for more than one course?
A: Yes. Each course registration is a separate transaction.

Q: Can I register more than one person on my credit card?
A: Yes, but each registration must be done as a separate transaction. For online registration, log in with the username and password of the person taking the course. Then enter the appropriate credit card information in the payment section.

For mailed or faxed registrations, please complete one form for each course participant and include appropriate payment information where indicated. The payee does not need to be the same as the registrant.
