Compulsory Team Coach

The Gym-Nest, Ltd. is a competitive and recreational gymnastics program for children ages 3-18. We value the personal best achievement of each and every child and reinforce this through measured accomplishments on an individual basis. Our instructors focus on developing each student as a person and as an athlete. We teach through games, positive feedback, and structured progressions for safe skill achievement. Our coaches are regularly provided with supplemental training to ensure the best atmosphere for the children and families we serve.

Currently we are seeking a Women's Program Coach. The opening available is for coaching compulsory competitive teams, as well as recreational gymnastics classes. Due to meeting the schedules of our athletes and families, the hours include evenings and weekends. Job responsibilities include class preparation and setup, record keeping, gymnastics instruction and spotting, teamwork and cooperation with other staff, and student evaluations. While the skills sets and framework of recreational classes is set by our curriculum, the day-to-day implementation requires some lesson planning on the part of the coach. The competitive teams require long-term lesson planning for the improvement of the athletes for success at their current level and proper technique for successful progression to future levels.

Applicants should be creative, energetic, and have the ability to communicate well using age-appropriate techniques with their students. Spotting skills, a critical eye for proper technique, and a passion for the sport of gymnastics are needed. Preferred applicants can demonstrate a willingness to commit to the athletes and our program. Knowledge of the Level 3 through 5 compulsory routines is needed. Additional credentials and skills (judging accreditation, first aid/CPR) are beneficial to this position and additional training (USAG Congresses or State Meetings) is preferred but not required.
